The conference brought together leading international experts in basic research, clinical virology, and emerging technologies and provided an important forum for scientific exchange.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"854\" data-end=\"1373\"><strong data-start=\"854\" data-end=\"878\">Dr. Martina Pfranger<\/strong> presented the work on a novel vaccine approach against Lassa fever based on the Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA) platform. The study demonstrated protective efficacy against heterologous challenge in Hartley guinea pigs. In addition, she presented a poster on the immunogenicity of an MVA-based vaccine candidate against Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, showing strong induction of both humoral and cellular immune responses and supporting further efficacy studies and clinical development. Both projects focus on bivalent poxvirus-based vaccine strategies targeting emerging viral pathogens such as Lassa fever virus and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1891\" data-end=\"2282\"><strong data-start=\"1891\" data-end=\"1913\">Michael Schachtner<\/strong> presented an abstract talk on Griffithsin-based peptide cages, a novel antiviral strategy designed to target mannose residues on viral surface glycoproteins. He also contributed a poster on the group\u2019s DNA-origami-based virus neutralization platform. Both projects are part of the <strong data-start=\"2195\" data-end=\"2219\">Virofight Consortium<\/strong>, funded by the European Union\u2019s Horizon 2020 research program.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2284\" data-end=\"2444\">Further poster presentations from the Wagner Lab addressed topics including novel vaccine candidates, antiviral strategies, and mechanisms of immune activation:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"2446\" data-end=\"3027\">\n<li data-section-id=\"zrjr7s\" data-start=\"2446\" data-end=\"2560\"><strong data-start=\"2448\" data-end=\"2468\">Franz Attenkofer<\/strong> \u2013 Adenoviral vaccine candidate expressing the pentameric complex of human cytomegalovirus<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"19l18qo\" data-start=\"2561\" data-end=\"2685\"><strong data-start=\"2563\" data-end=\"2584\">Christina Leupold<\/strong> \u2013 Effects of the Sepivac SWE\u2122 adjuvant on immune responses to germline-targeting envelope vaccines<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"8zuus0\" data-start=\"2686\" data-end=\"2774\"><strong data-start=\"2688\" data-end=\"2704\">Daniel Loibl<\/strong> \u2013 Impact of antigenic drift on antibody binding to Influenza A H1N1<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"apbfrw\" data-start=\"2775\" data-end=\"2901\"><strong data-start=\"2777\" data-end=\"2793\">Florian Muck<\/strong> \u2013 Cell surface display of the human cytomegalovirus pentameric complex after DNA- and mRNA-based delivery<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"ryx042\" data-start=\"2902\" data-end=\"3027\"><strong data-start=\"2904\" data-end=\"2925\">Antonia Senninger<\/strong> \u2013 Immune activation mediated by extracellular phase separation of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"3029\" data-end=\"3264\">The meeting provided valuable opportunities for discussion and networking with colleagues from across the international virology community.
