On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Sebastian Einhauser successfully defended his doctoral thesis with the highest distinction, summa cum laude. The title of his dissertation is “Epidemiological and Immunological Perspectives on SARS-CoV-2.”
Sebastian has been a member of our research group since 2018. He joined the group as a bachelor’s student and, over the years, developed into a key member of the team. During his doctoral studies, he contributed to numerous major SARS-CoV-2–related projects, including the coordination of the TiKoCo-19 and CoVaCo studies, the validation of vaccines, and the development of novel surrogate neutralization assays. Through this work, Sebastian and our team made an important contribution to the scientific response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
